Terms of service

The rules for using SecondStage. Please read them together with our privacy policy.

Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using SecondStage, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

What SecondStage is

SecondStage estimates how exposed the tasks in your job are to AI, suggests roles you could move toward, and gives you a plan and a weekly forecast.

Everything we show you is an estimate, based on public data and AI models. It isn’t a prediction about your job, and it isn’t career, legal or financial advice. Decisions about your work are yours to make.

Your account

You need to be 18 or older to use SecondStage. You sign in with your email, so keep that email account safe. You’re responsible for what happens in your SecondStage account, and if you think someone else got in, tell us straight away.

Using SecondStage fairly

Please don’t:

  • use SecondStage for anything illegal
  • try to get into other people’s accounts or our systems
  • copy, scrape or resell our results or data
  • reverse engineer SecondStage or try to disrupt it
  • use it to build a competing product

We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules or look like abuse.

Your content and ours

What you tell us stays yours. You let us use it to run SecondStage for you, as our privacy policy describes.

SecondStage itself, including the software, the design, the scores and the writing, belongs to SecondStage or the people we license it from.

The core of SecondStage is free. If you buy a paid plan, we’ll show you the price and how billing works before you pay. Payments aren’t refundable unless the law where you live says otherwise, or we say so when you buy.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep SecondStage accurate and running, but we provide it as is and as available. We don’t promise it will always work, be free of errors, or be right about your situation.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, SecondStage isn’t responsible for indirect losses that come from using it, like lost income, missed job opportunities or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to whichever is more: what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 100 US dollars.

Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

If you break these terms

If you break these terms or the law while using SecondStage, and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms. If we ever shut SecondStage down, we’ll try to let you know by email first.

The sections on content, guarantees, liability and claims still apply after your account ends.

Disputes

If something goes wrong, please email us first at [email protected] and we’ll try to sort it out with you directly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a big change, we’ll let you know by email or in the app. If you keep using SecondStage after an update, the new terms apply.
